elle canada internship.

During my internship at ELLE Canada I produced many layouts for the September, October and November issues. During my time at ELLE, I was partnered with Jed Tallo, the art director, as my mentor. He showed me how to maintain a grid structure throughout a magazine, while also applying themes found in each issue.

This experience allowed me to learn first hand the process of editorial design, working with a editors and the stages each feature goes through. After this internship, I have been able to apply everything I learnt to improve my editorial and typography skills in my future work.

The following layouts are all spreads I had worked on and were published in the magazines. I was able to work on multiple types of articles during my time from features, excerpts, shopping pages, a style frontis and debut pages.

Along with the work done for the print side of the magazine, I also completed some article images for the ELLE Canada website, imagery for the instagram page stories and developed multiple versions of promotional advertisements for the magazine that will be featured on all platforms.
